1960 DeSoto Fireflight. It didn't have any drive train nor gas tank. I was underneath the trunk area jacking up the rear axle (pumpkin) to put jackstands under rear axle housing. The jack handle was too short so I had to crawl underneath. The rear wheels were off, how or why I had them off before placing the jackstands is beyond me. Any ways I didn't have the front tires chocked. When I lowered the vehicle it rolled forward, the axle housing completely missed the jackstands. I rolled out of the way (I was in my 20's then) before the car came all the way down to the concrete floor. With no gas tank or drive train it might not have crushed me, but could have been pinned under it, unable to mess with the jack. I was in an unheated garage, it was Winter so I would have had a rough time until a roommate would have found me. This was in 95-96 before the cell phone era. I chock my wheels now & have a longer jack handle.
