I have 59 PW townie and need restoration advice.
Issues - It has been sitting in the driveway for a number of years – long story. It’s funny how much time two jobs and a family can take up. But now I am ready. brakes are not good - I bought a helitool front disk brake conversion years ago but it is still in the box.
Tranny has a rattle in 4th gear and forward driveshaft missing.
Needs bodywork weatherstripping and paint
Poly 308 will probably need some work
I seriously considered the possibility of putting the body on a newer chassis, but I want to avoid that if at all possible.
I live 30 miles south of Los Angeles and was looking for a shop to handle some of the restore. Not sure if I can afford a frame off restore, but I am ready to put some serious cash towards this. Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop or person? Thanks in advance!
