I did my own properly with cloth wire & just like the original. It worked great for 70 years & so my thought was why modify a good thing with ugly looking modern crap. There’s literally nothing to it if you have an original old harness you can use as a guide. If not...hopefully you have an idea how it was al routed & connected originally & if not...you can run the wires however you like but you’d need to remove the whole thing after getting it laid out in order to wrap the whole harness. Obviously I didn’t have the ability to weave a covering like the original but they sell harness wrapping material. In Canada we call it hockey tape :)
Looked pretty darn good on the blue WDX I restored.
The wires not cheap however. Plan on spending $250ish for materials. It probably took me 8hrs. I just buy them now. Nobody’s getting rich on these & they’re pretty dang nice. I just think if you have a nice restoration....why mess it up with a nasty painless wiring kit that looks like it was bought at Walmart?
