For years I had this simple old American made battery tester. It had foot long, heavy duty, red and black cables with the husky clamps on each. The plain black box had an analog meter and a momentary switch.
Clamp and watch the no-load volts and then hold down the switch, heating up the load element for ten seconds, watching the meter to see if it stayed in the green.
Like most of us, when it got very old, it died...so I bought what looked like an exact copy, made,--and you don't have to guess where. A few months past its one-year warranty and it's dead.
I know there are a new generation of digital testers out there, but I still like things dirt simple, if they work!
...anybody know if you can still get the American made originals ?
