Are you installing a new bushing? If you are just grind down the score marks and drive in the new bushing. If it's a snug drive then you're fine, if not, I would try some .001 shim stock placed around the bushing in the trunnion to tighten the fit, or try Paul's suggestion.

Once you're satisfied the bushing is good in place, install the UJ and axle and place the knuckle or spindle in the steering knuckle, you may have to drive the spindle in place with wood, turn the steering knuckle all the way to the left and spin the axle. If the bushing is fully seated, the axle will spin completely around, if not it will lock, and you'll need to drive the bushing further in usually until your driver bounces back when struck.
