Loctite red is for threaded fasteners ! You want to use Loctite 609 Green which is designed to lock cylindrical parts. Here is the link to Loctite 609

You can get it at NAPA. I always give it a cure time of 24 hours, much more than required. Once cured, its not coming off unless you heat the part to almost 500 degrees.
