Originally the NV5600 was touted as bulletproof in the beginning. Then it was determined the 1-1/4” input shaft wasn’t strong enough so I think it was 2001 they upgraded them to 1-3/8”. The only problem I ever had with mine was it was kind of notchy...like it didn’t shift smooth like a good NV4500. So a few years after I did mine, I heard guys saying they were blowing 5600’s up but I think we’re talking about the guys running crazy boost & you know the story. I mean if you put your mind to it...you can wreck anything :)
Regardless, the diesel guys say the G56 is the best manual. I’ve never had one but I had no issues with my 5600....and I didn’t baby it :)
