Cable drum drag

Has anyone had the problem where the ends of the cable drum rides on the cable guides? There is no strong binding but a very faint slight dragging sound. I can't imagine that steel on steel is ever correct. I've tried shimming between the front angle iron and the top of the guides but that does not look correct and think I might be missing something.
