Came up here in 1995 because the Bay Area was being overrun with non-Californians. Portland was just like the Bay Area when I was growing up and I felt like I had come home. I grew up in San Mateo and anything past Redwood City on the Peninsula was the country-farms right up to Highway 101. Now, it's concrete from Marin in the North to Gilroy in the South. Portland is now getting like the Bay Area when I left-the attitude, the politics, the money-and I don't like any of it!
