This is such a problem. I have so many friends that think they’re covered & don’t ask the questions because they fear their rates will go up or worse, their policy denied & so they’re happy just to have the policy. So I tell them, dude...in an accident you’ll have no coverage! “Are you kidding...I’ve been with them 27 years...they’d never deny me coverage!”
Ha! They’ll deny your coverage so fast it will make your head spin.
You’re taking exactly the right approach. Ask lots of questions & get it in writing. If they won’t do it it’s because they won’t honour your claim.
Insurance isn’t like it was in the 50’s. It’s cut throat now. Loyalty means nothing.
