I can tell you I have removed a lot of spring sets from both front and rear. Always on trucks that were 10 or 15 years old. I can only imagine the job will be much tougher on bolts that are 50 or 60 years or more.
I would start spraying Kroil or some other material on them about 3 months before I intend to do the work. And do it often. Have a good impact wrench, a good breaker bar, some 1/4" drifts, hammers, torch, and lots of patience.
