A few years ago I sold a jeep that ended up in the United Kingdom. Received a letter earlier this year from the Colo. DMV asking for the Horseless Carriage plate back if I didn't renew it. I told them it stayed with the sold vehicle per the statute, which was not limited to sales within Colorado. I doubt the UK owner will try to renew my old HC license plate. Haven't heard back yet from the DMV. :)
