In most Gear Vendors installations, an adapter housing is bolted on the back of the transmission, a coupling is slipped onto the output shaft, and the OD is bolted up.
The output shaft in the PW transfer case has preloaded bearings so you can't just slip a coupling on the end.
The easiest and cheapest way to couple the two is to use a u joint. The only caveat to that is that the units must remain aligned, since a u joint cannot bend without a splined
shaft to take up in and out movement
