Locally I found mid-grade and premium fuels to have little or no ethanol content and use it in my small engines. Fuel related trouble has been significantly reduced since I switched and storage isn't really a concern. I do still dump a liberal amount of sea foam in the tanks before winter but even that did not help when I was using "regular" fuel. Ethanol blends also seem to dissolve buildup from tanks and cans and deposit it in jets and passages. For whatever reason fuel filters do not seem to catch it or at least not all of it.
You can do a quick test on your pump gas with a graduated cylinder and water. The difference in price per gal. here is 15-20 cents usually, which is well worth not having the aggravation. Even at 4mpg in the w100...
