I have access to a W500 with a Hiab on it already but it’s been sitting for years. I’m told it runs & Hiab works but it needs everything. Needs a new doner body is what it needs.
My Ford...I mean I drive it around the block to get to the other side of my garage...that’s really as far as I ever go with it. I’d probably go with a big Hiab unit. Would love to find something with at least 40’ of reach but just heavier than the one I have. To be honest, I don’t remember what brand mine is? It came off a City of Portland, OR truck. I like the old Marmon trucks but I mean the body’s had a rough life on mine :) I bought a mint condition 63 F600 2WD I intended to swap the body on & then I thought...what am I doing? This is just a tool for me. If I restore it...I won’t want to use it as a tool anymore! :)
Anyway, It’ll be around $4k if I sell it & it’s not got a DT466 in it :) it’s got a 352 gas motor & I have a new 352 long block as well but the original runs fine so I’ve never had a reason to put it in.
