Yes it is, the wire you are referring to is S27 10R. The problem is, from what I can see, that it only has 12V on start.

However, I received another email this morning from Performance Distributors that said, "Most solenoids have a post labeled "I" that is intended for ignitions and is hot in the CRANK and RUN positions. 10 gauge wire is recommended for the ground but 12 will work."

So what I am trying to figure out is if that post is actually 12V hot during run. I would check myself on my truck except that my cabin wiring harness is sitting on my workbench being repaired so I can't fire my truck up.

Regarding the ballast resistor... the problem is the HEI distributor requires a full 12V for peak performance and minimum of 10.5 volts to fire. The instructions specifically say to bypass the ballast resistor. I could easily bypass the ballast resistor but the wire on the load side of the ballast resistor is JC 14RE which is below the minimum 12 gauge recommended by Performance Distributors.

Getting back to the latest email response, can anyone confirm that there is a solenoid post labeled "I" that is hot in the CRANK and RUN positions?

Thx,
Mark
