I sold the original axles from underneath my '53 a couple of weeks ago and picked up Dana 60 and Dana 80 ones to go in their place (4.10s behind the 360 are a better fit than the 5.83s were). I have the old Power Wagon Advertiser article for modifying the front Dana 60 to fit, but would really like to hear more from the guys who have done the swap, as well as get more pictures of the setup. I have a couple of questions about parts, also. What did everyone do for upper shock mounts and shocks? I'd much prefer to find something to bolt-on instead of weld, but can handle welding towers on, if need be. I also can't seem to find the pivot ball that's used with the stock drag link when doing the swap. I know Dan M and Matt T have done the swap (at least the front D60 part. The D80 is one I haven't seen a write-up for yet, but the Cab & Chassis dually D80 has a 67.5" WMS and 43.5" or 44.5" perch spacing with 3" spring pads, so it should be an extremely easy swap, as long as the stock pinion angle isn't off by too much). I could really use some help with it all. Also, I'm planning on adding A/C to the 360, and if anyone knows the best route (kit?) to go with, I'd appreciate any info there. I'm hoping to get the truck back on the road this year, but am currently in "head-scratching" mode. Thanks!!
