My battery top blew off in many pieces. I have it in a plastic bucket waiting for a chance to combine a trip to the battery store with something essential. I got the plastic squirt bottle with the tire beads. I would fill up the bottle with the beads, install a piece of rubber tubing from the bottle over the valve stem and fill up the tube with the beads. Then use a vibrating sander against the hose and the beads would jump around until they went right in. The tubing would eventually get a hole worn in it and I would cut another piece.
