Last year I purchased a reproduction winch clutch fork brake shoe assy. with riveted brake pad to install on a winch that was missing this part. After instillation, I could not get the brake pad to seat properly on the winch drum as it appeared that the bracket was too long. After measuring and making a phone call to compare an original bracket, I determined that the repro is actually made too long. I had to cut the brake pad/block off of the mounting arms and grind off a 1/16" then re-weld the mounting arm sections back on to brake pad block. Has anyone had this problem before or was mine one out of ten.
I just wanted to pass this information on incase anyone runs into this issue.
BTW-the repro is a beautiful reproduction---
