Paul,
You could have the truck tire shop de-mount/dis-mount the tires for youthen blast them and take them back for a remount. I just changed 5 tires on my 47 and I spread the work over a couple of weeks so I didn't kill myself. An hour or 2 a day. It is hard to beleive rubber can stick to a wheel so hard, but I guess 50 years of adheision does the trick. I had to work a hi-lift jack between a flatbed and the wheel(on the sidewall)to break the tires down. It was a lot of work.If you are intent on doing it yourself, go to a truckstop and watch them break down a few tires so you can see how the split ring is removed.Go during a graveyard shift and bring the boys some KrispyKremes and you may get special deal>LOL<. The bead of the tire has to be pushed down about 2 to 3 inches to free up the split ring so that it can be worked off of the wheel. If you are near So-Cal come on over and I will show you how to do it. Good luck. Kurt
