The full time 4-wd system in the trucks is great. I would love to put the system in the '41 WC other than the mated tranny thing.
The biggest problem that I have experiended in the 3 '77-'78 trucks {1 M880 belonging to the FD} was the pot coupler in the steering. It is a very weak point in the truck. It goes bad and there is an increidable amount of slop in the steering wheel. You either get used to letting the truck "float" while you go down the road or there is a U-joint replacement kit from Borggenson {something like that}, don't get a regular rebuild kit from Dodge, because it will go south quickly also. The floating thing makes you a much better driver on slippery roads. By letting the truck float you learn to be smooth in guiding the truck in a somewhat straight line without panicing because you can't keep it a perfectly straight line.

Have Fun
