You have to run tubes. The rims are not airtight and you will never be able to fill them up let alone put a valve stem in the. Tou also need flaps. They protect the tube from being cut and worn out by the rims. Flaps and tubes are cheap. Make sure that you get raidial tire tubes. Les Schwab (a west coast tire dealer) has tubes for $12.00 and flaps for about $6.00.
