I have not gotten one of these phone calls lately. We we just settling down to eat lunch wen the phone rang. My son Nate answers. It is Scott his Kenpo instructor. He is stuck and his 4x4 is apparently not working. Yep we will be there soon. Out to the garage to ge the PW out. Cleared a few things out of the back threw in the tow strap and a long chain. Down the road we went. There was only a slight sprinkle coming down. But as we moved south it started raining. We found Scott about 30 feet off the road and buried in some deep mud. I did not ask what he was trying to do. As we pulled around the corner he was waving off a Jeep Cherokee that wanted to help. We looked at him and i decided to try the tow strap first befor unwinding the winch. I backed in allowing the back wheels to get into some soft stuff but keeping the fronts on solid ground. Nate hooked up the tow strap. I dialed in the Warn hubs and shifted into 4 wheel low. Final check and then told Scott to put it in neutral and just steer. Into 1st gear to tighten the strap and then started pulling. Hummmm. He is really in there. Eaze out on the strap again my fronts and rear start to spin a little then he starts to move. As I am pulling him out a car is coming down the road and acts as if I am not there and almost hits me and would have if I did not stop. Back to pulling Scott. Soon he is up on the side of the road. We disconnect. We look at where he was. He was sunk up to his frame and we could see the drag marks of his axles and frame. He would not have gone far without help. He thanked me and offered to help me at anytime. We headed home. It is really raining now. We get a mile from home and the engine starts to miss. Oh darn we are out of gas!!!! Nate, call your mom and tell her to bring the gas can. A couple of minutes later Scott sees us and stops. I said just out of gas and we have some on the way (love those cell phones). She comes, and we head home after putting a couple a gallons in. We put everything away and head for the house.

An enjoyable hour helping a friend.
