A friend of mine has a 1960 Power Wagon it had been run for about 10 years with duals front and rear. Before the odometer reached 29000 miles the front axle was completly destroyed. I kept the brakes and center section but the housing was destroyed.
It is my opinion that the forces involved are too great for a front axle. If you would like annother opnion contact Keith Barrett, you can find his e-mail adress a few messages below this posting.
Keith is a master mechanic and has inspected the housing that I described above.
I feel that the loads are far beyond what the front diff was designed for.
Just my opinion.
