About 40 years ago I found out the hard way that a 2 3/8" x 5/16" bolt will slip between an intake valve on a 300 cu in Ford engine, but it will not treat the piston, crank rod or cylinder wall kindly.
This was the threaded rod that holds the air cleaner to the carburetor, somehow loosened up and slip it's way into this catastrophic situation.
