Back about 15 years I purchased a crated 215 from Vintage Power Wagons. There is a little brass plate on the right side of the block with the date 3/88. Presumably the rebuild date. Apparently there were rebuilt by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and put into mothball storage. I installed it into my B4. By turning the top tank and relocating the return flow nozzle, was able to squeeze in the motor with about an inch between the fan blade and radiator. I'm not sure that the distributor is original to the engine. I see the numbers 1035 cast into the base of the distributor.
Any of you folks purchased one of these motors from VPW? If so can you share your experiences or any knowledge of the history of these motors? What is the part number on the distributor for me to use for ordering a Pertronix Ignitor? The block serial number is FT11327. Thanks Galen
