Sir my early 46 has the original motor in it the truck was 321 built in Detroit in Nov 45. The truck was sold new without a oil filter which was not standard equip until 47. I bought the truck in the spring of 98 in eastern Missouri the owner a farmer told me that the engine had been overhauled a couple of times in its life as it was used constantly around the farm during its life there. He stated that the truck had the engine rebuilt by him 13 years before I bought it. It was bored 80 over and sleeved this truck has consistently been a strong runner as long as I have had it. It has never smoked or used oil it has been drove a lot by myself over the years. I have never needed to pull the head off so I can’t tell you about the inside but the last time I checked the compression on it ( about 5 years ago), it was 106-104 across the board on the cylinders so I think it’s proably a good deal to consider.
