Power wagons are front shackle I think, so putting the box in front like that could potentially create bad bump steer. I am not sure how objectionable it would actually be in a stiffly sprung power wagon. The theory is that by mounting the box so the pitman arm is as close to the fixed spring eye as possible so that as the suspension travels the movement of the spring shouldn't change the steering. I feel like I once saw a bell crank setup like an m37 mounted behind the axle on a power wagon with a box mounted similarly.
