1958 power giant rebuild

Encountered a new problem: 15 years ago I had drivelines rebuilt complete with u joint. Trying to install and U joint at pinon yoke does not appear correct. Smaller diameter than pinon yoke and longer. Will not tighten down with clamps and unable to install clips. Advice or solutions appreciated. Was wrong u joint originally install on drive line?
