Flopping outside mirrors

My '01 Dodge 2500 has been my faithful PW trailer tow now for over 15 years. About ten years ago the stock outside mirrors started moving and getting out of aim while driving.
I made some little wedges from thumb sized rolls of duct tape and wedged in the edges to stabilize them.
After the passenger side got even more wobbly (not the housing) the flat glass finally fell out and shattered.

Question: Is there a simple fix when these things start flopping around...or, if the whole outside unit has to be replaced, is there an aftermarket, perfect fit replacement that does not have the same design problem as the factory originals?
