Thought I give an update as to my dilemma-

Well I was at about 550 miles total running distance with the truck after the DEF added to the fuel incident, and 432 (or so) miles since the ATF was added to the tank

Yes. I added ATF at a local garages insistence to lubricate and hopefully keep a barrier between the components and the corrosive properties of the DEF

ANYWAY. a few others have said to NEVER add ATF to the newer engines. Well it was a little too late for that!

So.. onto the story..

At about the 350 mark? The fuel tank was nearly empty. I figured with the trucks gauge just nearing the red line and a remaining “range” of 73 miles, I was pretty much close to as empty as I felt comfortable. As I was at a major intersection and large truck shop I felt I had better fill up now as I was about 80 miles from home.
Before adding the new fuel I went under the truck and drained the water at the fuel/water separater one last time.
I bought and added some Clear-Diesel (white bottle / green lettering) And a bottle of the Bio-Kleen. I added what the recomended amount stated per what I put in my tank
80 miles to home.. No other changes to report. Truck still running fine. No surging. No hesitation No hard starting. No lack of power.

I’m going to continue with the advice I got on another site and run this tank out, then do it all over again.

Each time before starting the truck after each stop, sometimes over night, I get under and drain fuel at separator as well as the filter up by the engine and monitor what’s coming out.

Anyway.
I’ll report what happens as time goes on. I’m still anxious as a mouse in a snake den but it’s appearing that the short term affects of DEF contamination is t rearing it’s ugly head. For the moment., anyway.

It’s been at least 5 days now.

Now as I asked in the opening post here, I’m still curious as to long term affects of this momentary stupidity on my part.
I still haven’t heard anyone tell me if they themselves have ever did this or not
Or
If they did, was the truck fine at first (like I’m experiencing) or will I see slow degradation over time due to the components corroding?

Or will it just one day simply not start?

Or am I out of the proverbial woods here?

Thanks all for your continued responses
