The surrounds are one piece steel, much like a picture frame. They are welded in the corners, I think with resistance welding - there is no bead.
I have never received an email from you that I am aware of - even in the spam folder - I will check and see in an hour or so.
Also I will attempt to fire you an email. The budd bodies are mostly steel , doors have no wood in them and some tack strips in the body. There is a fair amount of wood in the roof to support the canvas.
