the later engines did have full flow. each type has different abillites. the bypass will get finer particles and reduce the acidity of the oil while the full flow filters more oil faster.
On medium and HD truck mopar engines they used to run both. eg 361s and 413s had the dual option. maybe the 251s and bigger flatheads did also not sure.
would be nice to run both but PWs are considered light duty so I just change the oil alot and dont convert
