NP420 and NP435 Questions

Found a transmission the other day that's removed from the truck already and was looking for more info on identification. Visited Phil's site, be he only mentions about the shift tower being closer to the firewall.

Did the NP420 ever have an aluminum top cover on it?

I'm thinking the NP435 did, but thought the NP435 was larger.

Some pictures of the two would be helpful or some casting number info maybe.
