well i took the dodge out for one last run to try to figure out the gearing noise I'm hearing.. the yolks are looser than they should be and it is very hot.. the trans is cool.. the reared is new.. it sounds to me like a chipped tooth noise or maybe a bad bearing.. im going with the transfer case due to the fact the noise is not coming up through the stick witch i have felt before with messed up transmissions.. i have a spare and a spare out of a M37 as well.
