I have a garden shredder, for leaves and small branches. It has wheels, and a folding stand that is supposed to keep it sitting level.
I was pulling the starter rope and the stand folded over, the machine fell, and hit me on the leg about 6" up from my ankle. I expected to see a big bruised area, instead the edge of the handle on the machine acted like a hatchet and cut a triangular chunk of flesh, clear to the bone. It took about 20 stitches to sew the two sides back to my leg. Sitting around waiting for it to heal up so I can put weight on it again is getting very old. It's only been a week, and probably be another week, but it feels like a month already. :(
