There are 7 cylinder block core hole plugs, 5 along the drivers side, one front and one rear. If he didn't replace all of them, it's probably where the leak is coming from. If he did replace it, it probably wasn't installed correctly. He's going to have a bad day, it may require pulling the engine to fix it.
