I agree and part of me thinks that the companies building these very high dollar classic cars with modern drivetrains are driving up prices of everything so it might have an upside. On the other hand it scares me that how far could this be taken, will I have to worry about a lawsuit if I ever sell anything that is not 100 percent restored? I put electronic ignition in a scout I own and it definitely added a little power, would that cross into modified and mean I could be sued if I sold to someone and they wrecked it? What would be the limit, a cam, bigger carb, fuel injection? My scout didn't have seat belts originally it was an option, I put in 3 point universal ones. They are probably not as safe as a new vehicle system but better than nothing, would I be liable if I sold it? Hypothetical I guess but it could really affect the car hobby.
