I would go with a rebuilt long block too. Easy to swap in a long block if you are handy, patient and take good pictures. for 2450 which is the price i see, you can't go too far wrong. shop time is 120 dollars around here so 20 hours of work on your current engine equals a new engine. yes, you'd have about long weekend or so to swap it yourself, but you know its done right. pressure wash the engine bay, tidy wires, etc. sounds like a plan...
