I have had mice problems the last couple of years. Never had them before. I had to recover and repaint both parts of the seat. Not cheap. I replaced the cardboard in the seat bottom with a sheet of ABS plastic in which I drilled vent holes like the original. I then screwed little squares of the same ABS plastic over each hole using washers between the squares and seat bottom to allow air flow. There is 1/8” space between the two. This has kept the mice out of the seat bottom. I had to cut and weld the two pieces of the seat bottom to replace the cardboard with the ABS. The mice can’t chew through the ABS like the can the cardboard.
The seat back also was redone. I haven’t yet figured out how to seal the back of the seat to keep the mice out.
