This year's road rally will be at Cheat Mountain Club in Cheat Bridge, West Virginia. The lodge only sleeps 21, and is full, but folks are welcome to join us and stay in hotels in Elkins, or other options about 40 miles from the lodge.
We will leave Morgantown, WV by noon Friday after lunch at my place, traveling south through Elkins and arriving at Cheat Mountain Club by dinner. Elkins is a good meeting point for people coming from east and west. Anyone joining us in Morgantown is welcome to leave a trailer at my place.
Saturday we will leave the lodge by 10am for a full day of secondary highways and US Forest Service roads. All hilly and gorgeous in fall foliage. Lunch will be on the road. We will head back to the lodge for dinner and those staying elsewhere will head there.
On Sunday, we will head back north through the mountains and valleys, again passing through Elkins on the way back to Morgantown.
Monday, a few diehards will get together at my farm across the border in PA to reminisce and plan the next adventure. You are welcome to come for as much or as little as you wish, just let me know in advance.
