Regarding hemis. I’m not sure you can have a real hemispheric combustion chamber without dual rocker arm shafts AND keep the intake/exhaust passages short. The dual rocker arm set up was expensive and was what led to their demise. Push rod angles and location get tricky too.

You may be correct about the new hemis being true hemis but I read somewhere when they were introduced they were not a true hemi. I’d like to see the underside of a new head. I may google it. I wonder what the heads look like on a modern hemi dragster?

I’m sure you remember Duntov designed the Ardun head for flat head Fords. The Ardun was a true hemi design. Ardun standing for Ariskis Duntov. There is speculation that Chrysler stole the design from him though there were previously many hemi designed engines. Also as you will remember he was also the father of the Corvette.

Interesting subject, I build small gas engines and getting valve geometry proper often is a problem. Compromise is almost always necessary.
