I wouldn't be concerned with the pickup screen, I'd be looking at cam bearings or as mentioned, a galley plug missing some where.
Your pickup tube is only a 3/8 pipe, which is submerged in the oil, so as long as the screen is bigger than the pipe, you should have enough flow at idle to keep the pressure up. If it was dropping as you rev it up, then I would say you have a pickup restriction.
