On the frame facing the tire by the front axle front spring shackle. You'll likely need to clean the frame to bare metal with a wire wheel in a drill or the like before the number can be seen as it is often hidden by years of rust and dirt.

There was a paper tag mounted to the inside of the glove box liner on early 1958s, but it almost never survives. When you find the numbers hare them and we can tell you what they mean.
