the W series in the 50s and 60s with were known to have ujoints come loose. low geared trucks with short tires have incredibly high driveline rpms. make sure all the others are nice and tight as well.
i have thought they should have kept using the detroit style like PWs and WCs have. impossible to come loose and easy to service
