I agree.
Linseed oil will liquify and drip out in hot weather if it’s saturated that way, even if you’re careful to wipe off the excess. But I’d still do that rather than exterior top-coat finishes that flake and peel. I use boiled linseed oil on lots of outdoor projects, cut with some mineral spirits and turpentine. Classic stuff and it smells nice and strong. :)
