Quite often a poopy dana 60 rear has the power lock option. For about 200 bucks you can toss in new clutches and discs AND at times the pinion and side gears will come with a kit. Makes for a nice front end locker. I like the King Pin model but the early ball joint units work fine.
The later Ford axles have unit bearings - which can be a PITA.
