Permatex Aviation Cement with a gasket will not wash away. Once it sets up, gasoline, oil, diesel fuel or alcohol is not strong enough to wash it away. Even with lacquer thinner, you have to work your ass off to get it off parts to remove it. I've been using that stuff for years and it never leaks if the surfaces and gaskets are good.
