I have had super good luck with right stuff. It is silicone in a can like cheese whiz. I believe it is what is called aneorobic sealant and it works great. It is meant to work without a gasket but I don't know why you couldn't use it on both sides of one. Expensive but I have never had a leak from anything I have used it on.
