Hey guys and gals, thanks for the warm welcome, I left some responses that are now archived. Quick update. Yes, it is the orange W200 utility box [ex state of California] that was advertised here in Northern California. From your advice, ordered the service manuals, got some parts from 3 of your vendors, DC, rock Auto, and VPW, all arrived as advertised. Going to the local Napa takes a few visits to get things right. I haven't worked on trucks or vehicles in over 40 years, lossed interest, now time...lot of tools have gone missing over the years, but now acquiring what is missing.
I now present a list of bona fides..
I learned how to drive on Dodges, over the years parents had a 50s DeSoto, 63 Dart convertible,my first car I bought was 58 Plymouth with a 318. Then a 62 D100 with a slant six engine I somehow managed to rebuild not knowing anything, a few years later sold it to neighbor, still runs today. Then bought a 55 Dodge from a co-worker that used to be the lumber delivery truck [small loads], weeds were growing out of the cab. It had a 241 V-8, dual points, 6-volt positive ground and was fun to drive, couldn't keep up on fixing it, I just didn't know how. Had to sell and move on.
Oh yeah,the Power Wagon background story. Grandfather built a cabin up in the Sierras with a non-maintained 4-Wheel drive road as access. more to come, charlie
